Gwen has a BS degree in Organizational Management from Concordia University, St. Paul MN. Gwen worked for Federated Mutual Insurance Company in Owatonna, MN for over 40 years, retiring from her manager role in December 2018. She enjoys "retirement" by working as a supplemental Member Services Rep at the Mayo Clinic Dan Abraham Healthy Living Center.
Gwen started running in 2010 and became actively involved in the Rochester running community in 2011. She completed the RTC marathon training class and ran her first marathon at Twin Cities Marathon in 2011. She has since completed a marathon in all 50 states and DC under 4 hours with a Boston Qualifying time. She is a co-race director for the Reggie Oeltjen Douglas Trail 11 Mile Race, past race director of the Hal Martin All Comers' Track meets and an active volunteer at many RTC events.
Gwen is a past RTC board member having served Feb 2012 to Dec 2014. She is a board member of the 50sub4 national club. Gwen was a founding member of the Save the Track organization. Gwen is looking forward to bringing her organizational and insurance experience to support the RTC board as well as her passion for mentoring and increasing running opportunities for the Rochester community.
