I have been in love with running all of my life, but most of all I love all the awesome people that running has brought into my life. I have run 20 marathons, several ultra-marathons and even a few sprint triathlons. The highlight of my runner career was running Boston in 2015. I took me 13 marathons before I finally qualified for Boston, but I never gave up! I love the challenge of trying something new and scary and pushing myself beyond what I think I can do. I am quite good at convincing my running friends to join me on many of these adventures.
I attended Concordia College in Moorhead, MN and earned degrees in both Dietetics and Exercise Science. After college I attended Mayo Clinic's Dietetic Internship program. I started working at the Rochester Athletic Club as a Registered Dietitian and Personal Trainer in 2004. I have worked at the RAC for 15 years and absolutely love my job! I continue to further my credentials and education. In 2017, I studied to become Board Certified as a Specialist in Sports Dietetics. In 2019 I became a Level 1 RRCA Running Coach.
I have had it in the back of my mind for several years now that I would like to serve on the RTC board. I think it is the perfect time in my life to serve. My son, Jaden, even participated the Grand Prix in 2019 and plans to join the John Marshall CC team this fall. My other son is named MILES- so he doesn't have a choice but to become a runner, lol! It would be my main mission to recruit and raise awareness about the Rochester Track Club, the Grand Prix Races and Saturday RAC Runs. I come across many runners in my line of work and have many running friends that I would love to connect with the RTC. I think it would be fun and rewarding to serve on the board.
