Rochester Track Club Social Activities

RTC Annual Banquet

Held each year in late January or early February at a local restaurant or banquet facility. RTC members and spouses or guests are welcome to attend. The evening consists of a happy hour followed by dinner and a guest speaker. This is followed by the presentation of the annual RTC awards: Dwight Pierson Award, Distinguished Service Awards, President’s Award, Runner of the Year, Grand Prix Awards and 3-Year Race Director Awards. Complimentary race entries to local races and race premiums from the prior year are given away to attendees.  View Past Award Recipients.

RTC Annual Potluck Picnic

Held each year on the third Thursday in August at a local park. This event is free and open to the public. Attendees bring a dish to pass and the RTC provides beverages, table service and a drawing for left over race premiums.

Polar Bear Fun Run and Lunch

Held each year in late December on the Saturday between Christmas and New Year’s at the Rochester Family Y. This event is free and open to the public. The fun run is 5K or 10K (and running is optional!). The RTC provides a lunch following the run; usually sloppy joes and BBQ pork or chicken sandwiches, veggies, chips, beans, beverage and cookies. Race premiums from the year are given away to attendees.

Adopt-a-Park (Trash Pickup)

Did you know the RTC has a section of the South Zumbro Trail that we have adopted? Starting in April and ending in September we have monthly outings to pick up trash along our section. The outings typically start at 5:30 PM across from Snappy Stop off Broadway South and end in a social gathering at a local establishment. All are welcome to attend. During each of these months a board member is responsible for organizing. Check out the Board Sign Up Sheet for more details.  For more information please visit the city website.

Caroling on the Run

In December, a group of runners get together and run from location to location signing carols. More information about this event will be posted in the coming months. All are welcome and you don’t have to be a great singer.
