Saturday sessions for fall marathons and half marathons sponsored by the Rochester Track Club to begin on June 26, 7 AM at the Rochester Athletic Club and continue every Saturday through September 25th. Waiver must be signed and will be available at the start of each Sat. run.
We would like to invite you to participate at anytime in the marathon/half marathon training runs. The much anticipated, highly publicized, and greatly enjoyed long runs will take place every Saturday morning at 7:00 AM (note the time change from the spring’s 7:15 AM runs) starting June 26th. We just ask for a small donation of one dollar per time to cover the fluids, bananas, cups, gels (sometimes), etc.
Those fall marathons for 2010, in the upper Midwest, include the Twin Cities Marathon, Chicago Marathon, Whistlestop Marathon (Ashland, WI), Quad Cities Marathon (Davenport, IA), Walker Marathon (Walker, MN), Lakefront Marathon (Milwaukee, WI), Fox Cities (WI), and the Des Moines (IA) Marathon. Most of these events have accompanying half marathons and their own web sites.
Suggested marathon and half marathon training schedules can be found under the Resources tab on the RTC home page.
A waiver that must be signed prior to your participation in the Saturday runs. If you filled out a waiver last spring, there is no need to do it again. One waiver per year. Please remember we cannot accommodate animals or baby joggers on the training runs. Our insurance does not provide coverage in the event animals or baby joggers accompany us,
We hope to see you at one or several points during the summer months, hopefully on a somewhat regular basis.
***Also, please, please, please let me know if you, a member(s) of your family or friend can assist with an aid station on Saturday mornings. We are very dependent on aid station volunteers for our Saturday routes. Just let me know a date(s) that works and Randy McKeeman, Dan Strain and I will take care of the rest.
The summer/fall RTC Marathon Training Classes will begin Thursday, June 24th at 7 PM at the Rochester Athletic Club. If you are an alum, please feel free to join us for any of the offered classes at any time. If you know of anyone who might wish to participate, please let me know or just encourage them to show up at the introductory class on Thursday, June 24.
Remember: The summer Saturday runs will begin from the Rochester Athletic Club at 7 AM on June 26.
Please contact me if you should have any questions.
See you on the roads.
