The Dwight Pierson Service Award is akin to a lifetime achievement award as a recipient can only receive it once. It is for outstanding, over-and-above sustained service to the RTC. The Outstanding Service Awards are awarded to volunteers who have contributed significantly to the club over the last year or two. They may be awarded to an individual more than once, but must be separated by two years. The nominations are submitted by the RTC board, voted on by the previous year’s winners and are presented at the annual banquet in January/February. The recipients are not notified ahead of time. The award is a hand-painted plate in the Norwegian style painting technique called rosemaling. There is an award called RTC Runner of the Year for which the membership submits nominations. It is not a volunteer award, but is awarded to someone who has achieved a significant running accomplishment and also is an inspiration in the local running community.

For questions about standings, contact Steve DeBoer (deboer.stephen@mayo.edu). For questions about awards, contact Lin Gentling (lsgentling@charter.net) For questions about the Youth Grand Prix, contact the RTC president.

One of the best ways to meet other runners is to participate in one of the group runs listed on the Group Runs page. Another good way to meet others is to volunteer at a race. Contact any race director listed on the RTC race calendar on this website.
